Fire Trench
Like the communication trench, this trench uses A-frames, but they have been shortened at the parapet so as not to obstruct the step. Note the niches built into the high trench walls between the jute bags. Loose hand grenades might be stored in them, for example. Such niches ensured easy access to ammunition.
Net als in de verbindingsloopgraaf zie je hier A frames. Bij de borstwering of 'parapet' zijn ze echter ingekort om de opstap niet te hinderen. Let op de nisjes die tussen de jutezakken in de hoge loopgraafwanden zijn ingewerkt. Om snel over munitie te beschikken worden er bijvoor-beeld losse handgranaten in bewaard.
Tout comme chez la tranchée de connexion, on remarque ici des châssis en forme de la lettre A. Cependant, ils ont été raccourcis au niveau du parapet afin de ne pas entraver l'escabeau. Notez les niches construites dans les hauts murs de tranchée entre les sacs de lute. Afin d'avoir rapidement des munitions à portée de la main, des grenades en vrac y étaient emmagasinées.
Wie im Verbindungsgraben sehen Sie hier A.Frames, An der Brüstung oder "Parapet" sind sie jedoch gekürzt, um das Hochsteigen nicht zu behindern. Beachten Sie die Nischen zwischen den Jutesäcken in den hohen Grabenwänden. Beispielsweise werden daringdose Handgranaten aufbewahrt, um einen sc ellen Zugriff auf Munition zu ermöglichen
