American temporary house, 1922
The Piets family built this American temporary house in 1922 in nearby Wevelgem It is made of pine, which is not very durable. Nevertheless Father Joseph Piets lived in it until 1978. In 2013, by then a protected building, it was brought to Zonnebeke, The façade, which was destroyed by bombing in World War II, was reconstructed at that time.

De familie Plets bout deze Amerikaanse noodwoning in 1922 te Wevelgem. Ze is gemaakt van het weinig duurzame dennenhout. Toch blijft vader Joseph Plets er lot 1978 wonen. In 2013 wordt het inmiddels beschermde gebouw overgebracht naar Zonnebeke De voorgevel, die door bominslagen in de Tweede Wereldoorlog verloren ging, werd daarbij gereconstrueerd.

Logement d'urgence américain, 1922
La famille Piets avait construit ce logement d'urgence américain à Wevelgem en 1922. Il était construit en bois de pin peu soutenu. " Cependant, le père Joseph Piets y habita jusqu'en 1978. En 2013, le bâtiment désormais protégé, a été transféré à Zonnebeke La façade qui avait disparue en raison des bombardements de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, a alors été reconstruite.

Die Familie Piets baut 1922 in Wevelgem diese amerikanische Notwohnung Sie wird aus dem nicht sehr beständigen Kiefernholz hergestellt. Dennoch wohnt Vater Joseph Piets bis 1978 darin. 2013 wird das nun unter Denkmalschutz stehende Gebäude nach Zonnebeke gebracht. Die Fassade, die durch Bombenangriffe im Zweiten Weitkrieg verloren gegangen war, wurde dabei rekonstruiert.
