Begin 1903 vestigde de Lettergieterij Amsterdam zich in dit okergele pand in art- nouveaustijl. Het bedrijf produceerde tot 1981 loden drukletters, houten drukkerijmeubelen en inktrollen voor drukpersen. Het gebouw werd in 1906 met een etage verhoogd. In 1921 breidde het bedrijf uit in de vrijgekomen melkfabriek aan Bilderdijkstraat 157-161. Aan de achterzijde (Da Costakade) bevinden zich bedrijfsgebouwen uit 1912 en 1941/1950.

The Lettergieterij Amsterdam (type foundry) moved into this ochre yellow art nouveau style building in 1903. Until 1981 the company produced lead typefaces, printing equipment and ink rolls for printing presses. An extra storey was added to the building in 1906. In 1921 the company expanded into the former milk factory at Bilderdijkstraat 157-161. Behind the building are commercial premises dating from 1912 and 1941/1950.

Tetterode is a complex of buildings in Amsterdam-West in the Netherlands. Built as the Amsterdam Type Foundry from 1902 onwards for the Tetterode print company, the site was left derelict in 1980. After plans were announced to demolish the buildings, they were squatted in 1981 and later legalized in 1986. Tetterode hosts or has hosted a range of activities including an art gallery, arts and crafts workshops, a citizens advice centre, a clothes shop, the Eddie the Eagle museum, a gay and lesbian disco, a hairdresser, a kindergarten (called De Tettertjes), a stencil printers, a shoemaker and a theatre.
