Inscription. How do I become a Commissioned Military Officer? • Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC): Enrollment in college ROTC program in addition to the course required for their degree. ROTC students receive a stipend/money towards books, tuition, etc.
• Direct Commission: Leaders in professional fields, such as law, medicine, and religion.
• Office Candidate School (OCS): OCS is the main means by which prospective officers are trained.
• U.S. Military Academies: West Point (Army), Naval Academy (Navy and Marines), Air Force Academy (Air Force and Space Force), and Coast Guard Academy (Coast Guard). All Officers program requires a 4-year college degree.
