1. Post Office Marker
Inscription. Built in the early 1900's, this building served as the second Monterey post office. The upstairs meeting room was rented out to various church groups and other organizations. The building served as the post office until 1955 when a new one was constructed on the corner of Commercial Avenue and Poplar Street. This building has since served as everything from a TV repair shop, comics bookstore, and insurance company. Local couple, Jon and Lindsey Phillips, bought the building in 2021 and conducted a major renovation project.
