1. Fred Arends - The Traditional Dutch Master Marker
Inscription. Fred Arends was born in 1949. In 1966 he began his studies at the art academy in Arnhem, The Netherlands. His artistic qualities soon became apparent, and gradually he developed and refined his technique.

Like many 19th century painters, Arends was inspired by 17th century masters and their techniques. Arends was also fascinated by great Dutch Masters of the 19th century. Extensive studies encouraged him to translate these Dutch-Romantic paintings into contemporary versions. Here lies his greatest strength.

After more than 50 years his work still finds its way to private collections in Europe, the United States, Asia and The Caribbean.

Nowadays Fred Arends resides in the colorful country of Curaηao, where he is inspired by the beautiful aspects of the island. He still uses his unique and authentic technique and captures his surroundings beautifully in his work.

Part of his work is exhibited here. Make an appointment to admire his work or visit one of the open exhibitions. Contact the office on (5999) 7889887 during office hours or use Whatsapp (5999) 7889887. Feel free to email us at [email protected] or visit www.fredarends.com for more information.
