Peacemonument
250 Blacksmiths from all over the world regularly come together to organize connecting blacksmithing events. This led to the idea by Luc Vandecasteele and BABA (British Artist Blacksmith Association) to organize a blacksmithing event in 2016, as part of the centenary commemoration of the First World War in the Peace City of Ypres. The result of this event was this peace monument, consisting of an 11.5-ton cenotaph that incorporates a negative/positive image of a single poppy, surrounded by 2016 poppies. The white poppy symbolizes all the executed soldiers from that World War.
Around the peace monument, there are also 26 panels where international blacksmith artists express their views on the conflict of the First World War. Additionally, together with many children, poppies were forged to create several poppy wreaths. In addition to these two wreaths, there is also a wreath at the Menin Gate in Ypres.

Omheen het vredesmonument staan ook 26 panelen waarbij internationale smeedkunstenaars hun kijk op het conflict van de Eerste Wereldoorlog weergeven. Daamaast werd samen met heel wat kinderen poppies gesmeed, om zo een aantal poppiekransen te maken. Naast deze twee kransen staat er ook nog een krans aan de Menenpoort in Ieper.

Autour du monument de la paix se trouvent également 26 panneaux où des artistes forgerons internationaux expriment leur vision du conflit de la Première Guerre mondiale. De plus, avec de nombreux enfants, des coquelicots ont été forgés pour créer plusieurs couronnes de coquelicots. En plus de ces deux couronnes, il y a également une couronne à la Porte de Menin à Ypres.

Um das Friedensdenkmal herum stehen auch 26 Tafeln, auf denen internationale Schmiedekünstler ihre Ansichten über den Konflikt des Ersten Weltkriegs präsentieren. Darüber hinaus wurden zusammen mit vielen Kindern Mohnblumen geschmiedet, um mehrere Mohnkränze zu erstellen. Neben diesen beiden Kränzen gibt es auch einen Kranz an der Menenpoort in Ypern.
