In het Museum De Noord - het oude Gemeente Badhuis - kwamen vorige eeuw dagelijks buurtbewoners baden. De woningen in het dorp hadden namelijk geen douche. Wel hadden ze een eigen toilet en elektriciteit, wat tamelijk uniek was voor de jaren '20. Vogeldorp en het vrijwel identieke Disteldorp waren bedoeld als nooddorpen. Inmiddels zijn grote delen van de bebouwing gemeentelijke monumenten.

Years of construction 1918-1919
The residents of the surrounding areas came to the old Gemeente Badhuis (municipal baths), now the Museum De Noord, for their daily bath. The houses in the village did not have showers. They did have their own toilets and electricity, quite unique for the 1920s. Vogeldorp and the virtually identical Disteldorp were purpose built because of the housing shortage. Since then, many of the buildings have become municipal monuments.
