Inscription. Reed Paint and Auto Body Shop was established in 1982 at 1354 North Cove Boulevard which is now called MLK Boulevard. Herman "Bud" Reed Jr. had always wanted to own his own body shop and with hard work and dedication, he was able to make that happen in the summer of 1982, he opened his shop and was his only employee. Later on his son Dwight and his wife Pearline Reed joined him to make the business more successful. Reed's Paint and Auto Body Shop was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce.

Reed's Paint and Auto Body shop was known for taking care of the its customers. Whether you had money or not Mr. "Bud" Reed made sure he provided excellent quality and service to all of his customers. Mr. Reed worked his shop everyday until 1996. The shop remains open today and is run by his son Dwight Reed and Roy Wilson.
