Artist Statement

Sail Fence is a steel framework with festive, gently-moving painted canvas panels. Inspired by the fabric installations of Christo (The Gates), the lyrics of a Phish song (Moma Dance), and the pleasure of burning matches for no reason (Tschumi, Fireworks), this construction contemplates a vessel at dock, awaiting its next voyage. Installation of this artwork was a collaboration between ART26201, the City of Buckhannon, and the Moss Family.
