Inscription.
In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the founding of Harrodsburg by Capt. James Harrod and 32 brave men on June 16, 1774. Dedicated by an appreciative Commonwealth June 16, 1974.

On June 16. 1974 Neil Armstrong, astronaut pioneer to the moon & Claude Brusse, direct descendent of James Harrod, dedicated this monument to James Harrod and his men.
