Een oorspronkelijk Frans Scheepskanon van het stelsel 1786 en gemaakt in 1811 Tijdens de Napoleonitische tijd werden dergelijke kanonnen ook geleverd aan de zeemacht van het Koninkrijk Holland. Deze 18 ponder werd middels een mechanisch vuurslot afgevuurd in plaats van de oorspronkele lontstok. Dit kanon werd gerestaureerd en herplaatst ter gelegenheid van het 50 jarig jubileum van de Vereniging "Oud Monnickendam"

An original French Naval Cannon of the 1786 system and made in 1811. During the Napoleonic era, such cannons were also supplied to the navy of the Kingdom of Holland. Note that although Grote Griet brags that she could hit the church on Marken, which is more than roughly 1,500 meters to the east, she is actually pointed SSW, giving her, perhaps, complete fire control over the cars heading up north from Amsterdam on the N247.
