Regarding Brush Creek Salem Church. Built between 1816 and 1820, the Brush Creek Salem Church was shared by the German Reformed and German Lutheran congregations until 1958 when the German Lutheran congregation moved next door into their own building. Placed on the list of National Register of Historic Places on May 11, 1987, the church features as many original glass window panes as possible. There are also elegant stained glass windows, a second floor gallery, an 1870 pipe organ which is still played occasionally and a six-inch long brass key that opens the front door.
