Inscription. "Few things on earth taste so good as the syrup of the first sugaring off. It is fresh and new, the very essence of the earth and the budding trees and the wakening spring. You can smell it in the steam from the evaporator and taste it in the hot syrup lifted from the vat in the big ladle."
