Alexandria in Douglas County, Minnesota — The American Midwest (Upper Plains)
Welcome to Alexandria
My name is Big Ole ('O-Lee').
I was created to accompany the Kensington Rune Stone to the New York World's Fair in 1965. I am lovingly cared for by the Runestone Museum across the street.
I stand 28 feet tall and weigh 4 tons (Uff-da), so I need A LOT of extra care! Donations can be made at www.RunestoneMuseum.org.
Visit the museum to find out more about my intriguing life and to learn about the Kensington Rune Stone.
Post our pictures together on social media using #KRunestone.
Before you go, please help me and the City of Alexandria by keeping my park clean.
Erected by Runestone Museum.
