Inscription. Upon this marker appear the names of those Barren Countians, who through the misfortunes of war, fell into the hands of the enemy. Sometimes unwillingly abandoned by their country; they were abused, starved, and exposed to unspeakable cruelties, their loyalty and sacrifice remain as an inspiration to their countrymen.
