Javni zahod za potrebe posjetitelja u Vrtu je postavljen kod ulaza vec 1892., no zamijenjen je novim objektom 1905. Tada je iz Beca mladi arhitekt Milan Lenuci (danas dobro poznat po urbanistickom ostvarenju Zelene potkove) donio ideju modernih javnih zahoda te po njihovom uzoru izradio nacrte za nekoliko zagrebackih. Izgradena su dva objekta gradskog tipa (primjerice zahod na Britanskom trgu) te nekoliko perivojnih, kojima pripada i ovaj u Vrtu. Nakon turbulentnog razdoblja Svjetskih ratova zahod je nekoliko puta preinacen, izmijenjen mu je raspored, a zbog neimaštine uvelike su zapušteni izvorni arhitektonski detalji, uz nastojanje da se održi samo osnovna funkcija.

Tijekom 2019. i 2020. pod konzervatorskim nadzorom obavljena je lovita obnova svih dijelova gradevine u secesijskom stilu: izradeni su melji, ucvršceni zidovi, obnovljena je stolarija prema izvornoj boji, mijenjena infrastruktura i ugradena nova oprema. Umjesto sobice za WC ciču (Klozetfrau), ureden je odjeljak za osobe s invaliditetom, a konstruirani su i nasadi uz sam objekt.

in 1892, but was replaced by a new version in 1905. The idea of a modern public toilet was brought from Vienna by architect Milan Lenuci, today famous as brilliant urbanist who designed Zagreb's Green Horseshoe. He created the plans for two types of toilets in Zagreb: park toilets that were built in the Garden and in the Mirogoj Cemetery, and somewhat different city toilets envisaged for city squares, such as the one built in the British square. This toilet deteriorated much after two World wars, later preserving only its basic function. During 2019/20 it was completely restored according to old plans and photos, giving it back its original Art Nouveau looks, but with new, modern equipment and a compartment for disabled persons.
