Jud Logan. Head Track and Field Coach. Logan served as AU's head Track and Field Coach from 2005-2022 and was Ashland's throws coach for 13 years prior to that. As the head coach, he guided the men's program to three consecutive NCAA Division II Championships 2019 indoors and outdoors and 2021 indoors. As a head coach, his teams earned 42 top 10 national placements and his student-athletes won 59 individual National Championships and collected 457 All-America Honors. Logan earned 23 Coach of the Year Awards. A world class thrower, he was a four-time United States Olympian (1984, 1988, 1992, 2000) and also competed in the Pan-American Games, the Goodwill Games and the World Championships. At one point he held the American record of 268-8 in the hammer throw. Logan was the 1987 Pan-American Games men's hammer throw champion. He was a 2002 inductee into the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame, a 2015 inductee into the National Throws Coaches Association Throwers Hall of Fame and a 2024 inductee into the USTFCCCA Hall of Fame.
