DORAS AN BHRÚNAIGH
Séard atá i nDoras an Bhrúnaigh ná an doras stuach agus an fhuinneog ar an gcéad urlár den teach mór de chuid ceannaí as Gaillimh ón seachtú haois déag, a bhí suite ar dtús ar Shráid na Súdairí (Lána Skinner mar a bhí cheana). Faoi bhun na fuinneoige, tá leac armúrtha ar a bhfuil armas na mBrúnach agus na Loinseach, dhá cheann de cheithre threibh déag na Gaillimhe, agus inscríbhinn na bliana 1627. Tar éis á mholadh ag Cumann Seandálaíochta agus Staire na Gaillimhe sa bhliain 1905, atógadh an doras mar an mbealach isteach thuaidh ar an bhFaiche Mór a bhí fálaithe laistigh de ráillí iarainn ag an am. Ar cheann de na samplaí is fearr dá leithéid atá le feiceáil fós, cuireann Doras an Bhrúnaigh i gcuimhne dúinn an ailtireacht iontach ó bhuaicré meánaoiseach na Gaillimhe.

Beneath the window is an armorial stone bearing the arms of Browne and Lynch, two of the fourteen Tribes of

Galway, and the year 1627. In 1905, following proposals from the Galway Archaeological and Historical Society, the doorway was rebuilt as the northern entrance to the then-railed Eyre Square. One of the finest surviving examples of its kind, the Browne Doorway serves as a reminder of the great architecture of Galway's medieval hey-day.
