Inscription.
The Town House of Richard Martin, Ballinahinch, Connemara, Member of Parliament for Galway, and the founder of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. He was universally known as "Humanity Dick", a nickname given to him by King George IV. He was world-famous for his claim to have "the longest drive in the world" which started in Bushypark and went all the way out to Ballinahinch.
