Regarding Marie Schock House. This structure is one of four homes designed by F.R. Schock that were designated Chicago Landmarks on January 20, 1999. The Schlect Home, kitty-corner this house at 5804 W. Race, was designed for Schock's aunt. A block south, Schock built his own home at 5804 W. Midway Park; next door to that home is the Beeson House and Coach House, at 5810 W. Midway Park.
The four Schock homes are also listed as "contributing structures" in the Austin Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
