Le 23 octobre 1943, s'est tenue clandestinement dans cet immeuble la première réunion du Comité parisien de la Libération. Coordonnateur de la résistance parisienne, en août 1944, il a organisé, avec les Forces Françaises de l'Intérieur (FFI), l'insurrection de la capitale.

Du 26 août 1944 au 6 mars 1945, le CPL a siégé comme conseil municipal de Paris.

On October 23, 1943, the first meeting of theComité parisien de la Libération (“Paris Liberation Committee”) was held clandestinely in this building. As the coordinator of the Parisian resistance, it organized the Parisian uprising in August 1944, alongside the French Forces of the Interior (FFI).

From August 26, 1944, to March 6, 1945, the CPL served as the Paris City Council.
