1. A Moment in Time c.1930s Marker
A view of the southwest corner of Broadway and Flint Street from the 1930s shows A.L. Griggs Drug Store on the corner. The neighboring building built in the early 1900s is L-shaped with entrances at 12 South Broadway and 21 West Flint Street. It housed the Beemer and Carlton General Store early in the second decade of the 20th century. South of it is Best Market and Barney's Tavern, then occupying the J.C. Predmore building.
Griggs 1910-1960s, building was built in 1881. Owned by Lee and Mabel Griggs. They lived downtown at 209 E. Flint Street. 1920s Beemer and Carleton General Store and the Orion Post Office occupied part of the Griggs building. (pictured at right)
