1. Western Motel, Vinita, Oklahoma Marker
Inscription. Henry and Emelia Wrage opened the Quarterhorse Motel in the 1950s. In addition to regular rooms, it featured stables for horses. It became the Western in the 1970s. Today the site is also home to a giant fiberglass chief that originally stood at a gift shop in Massachusetts.
 
Erected 2024 by Oklahoma Route 66 Association.

3. The Western Motel
Just days after this photo was taken, the motel installed a new neon sign reminiscent of those that beckoned weary travelers during Route 66's heyday.
