1. The First Baptist Church / Pastors of The First Baptist Church Piedmont, Alabama Marker
The first church building was a white frame building located at 202 Daily Street and in 1905 moved to a new building at the corner of North Main and W. Ladiga Streets. In 1935 an adjoining two-story frame building was erected. In 1948 a brick sanctuary was erected; in 1952 the north two-story brick building was erected; and in 1960 the south three-story educational building was erected. The steeple, a gift of Mr. & Mrs. M. J. Knight. was added in 1970.
The outstanding missionary accomplishment was the sponsoring of a mission, Roberts' Chapel.
