1. American Airlines Flight 77 Marker
Inscription. The bench before you represents American Airlines Flight 77. A Boeing 757, it took off at 8:20 a.m. from Washington's Dulles International Airport en route to Los Angeles with 64 people on board, At 9:37 a.m., it crashed into the Pentagon, killing all on board and another 125 people in the building, The pedestal which supports the artifact, symbolizes the Pentagon and bears the emblems of the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard, We will Never Forget their sacrifice on that day as America and the world continue to confront global terrorism and anyone who seeks to destroy freedom.
