1. T-39D Sabreliner Marker
Inscription.
Designed as a mid-sized business jet by North American Aviation, its name was derived from the similarity of the shape of its wing and tail to the F-86 Sabre jet, also designed by North American.

The aircraft on display came to the Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX-31) in December 1973, and operated out of the Naval Air Warfare Station (NAWS) airfield (NID/KNID). It was retired from service in April 2018.

During its operational lifetime, it served primarily as a flying testbed for air-to-air and air-to ground seekers and sensors. Early in its career, circa 1973, it was used to gather data needed to solve an AIM-9L Sidewinder tracking anomaly.

The T-39D was also used as an unscheduled airline to carry civilian and military personnel to critical meetings when commercial travel options were limited or required excessive time.
