Character actor George Glenn Strange was a cousin to both Taylor 'Cactus Mack' McPeters & Rex Allen. Often playing a 'Heavy' he appeared in more than 350 TV shows & movies & partnered with veteran actor/singer Eddie Dean penning many songs and the scores for the Westerns.
He played 'Butch Cavendish' the Lone Ranger's nemesis in the 1949 TV series, and was Universal's 'Frankenstein' Monster, though he was best known & loved for his portrayal as 'Sam', the bartender in the iconic Western series Gunsmoke.
