ECV Returns to Sonora - 1998. . Following the incorporation of E Clampus Vitus in 1940, the corporate officers met in different cities and towns, did not meet annually, and first met in Sonora in 1947. By 1962, the Grand Council and Board of Proctors had been created and these bodies met in Murphys through 1993 when the meetings were moved to Mariposa. The corporate meetings were moved to Antioch in 1997, and following that convocation, a pervasive feeling lingered that our Clampatriarchs had lost the spiritual connection to our roots, The Mother Lode, an area which was central to ECV being revived. To address this concern past proctor, Eddie Hawkins and Sublime Noble Grand Humbug, Loren Wilson facilitated moving our annual meeting back to Sonora. , Dedicated May 19, 2023 on the occasion of our 25th grand encampment by the board of Proctors and the Grand Council of Venerable Clampatriarchs of E Clampus Vitus Inc.
