1. "Omar Sharif" Marker

Inscription. Egypt's top actor, Omar Sharif, known world wide for his roles in "Doctor Zhivago", "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Hildalgo" spent the summer of 1968, right here in Kanab. He was co-starring with Gregory Peck, Telly Savalas and Camilla Sparv all of whom were making the epic Western, "Mackenna's Gold" for Columbia Pictures. It was Omar's first Western role and he throughly enjoyed his time in Utah. Carl Foreman Produced and J. Lee Thompson Directed the movie.
