1 Central School (Victoria). The 1872 Central School on the right was remodeled after a fire in 1881 and renovated again before this view was taken about 1910. Congregational church is on the left, in front of Trinity Anglican church.
2 Grand Opera House on Collier Street, 1897.
3 Barrie post office and train station, 1942.
4 The American Hotel on Collier Street opened in 1874 as the Mansion House. Now the location of Barrie City Hall.
5 Firehall built in 1875 at the southwest corner of Collier and Mulcaster streets (demolished in 1978).
6 Ice huts on Kempenfelt Bay in 1950 with Post Office at centre and Train Station to the left. The railway cut Barrie off from its waterfront. A train has stopped at the Barrie station.
7 & 8 St. Marys Roman Catholic church and Separate school. East side of Mulcaster, north of McDonald Street, about 1918.
Royal Victoria Hospital, 1941, at Ross Street to the west of downtown, opposite Queens Park.
Court House after 1877 renovations, located behind the jail on Poyntz Street. The 1842 building was extended to the west to add a second court room, and updated in style.
