Terry Chip Welty
January 12, 1948- September 5, 1968
Specialist Fourth Class Welty, a door gunner with the One Hundred Seventeenth Assault Helicopter Company, Two Hundred Fourteenth Aviation Group, First Aviation Brigade, was killed when his aircraft crashed. A 1966 graduate of Jackson Memorial High School, he attended Florida Technical College and belonged to the Canton Baptist Temple. The son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Welty of Massillon, Terry Chip Welty was also survived by a sister, Cindy, and a brother, George. He is buried at Welty Cemetery in Beach City, Ohio.
