Inscription.
Staff Sergeant Hendle, a five-year Army veteran, was killed during a mortar attack in Pleiku Province. He was serving as an infantryman with Company E, First Battalion, Twelfth Infantry Regiment, Fourth Infantry Division. The son of Mrs. Coletta Hendle of Massillon, he was born in Massillon and was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School. David Wallace Hendle, a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Massillon, is buried in the parish cemetery.
