Private First Class Wymer, serving as an infantryman with Company A, Third Infantry Division, was killed in the area of Cu Chi when the armored personnel carrier in which he was a passenger was hit by an enemy recoilless rifle round. He was struck in the chest by metal fragments from the shell. The son of Mrs. Mardell McKeen of Canton, he attended Perry High School and was employed by Republic Steel Corporation. He is buried in West Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre.
