Inscription.  
1836 nach Plänen des Baudirektors Friedrich Moritz Stamm für die 1823 gegründete staatliche Freischule für Jungen und Mädchen errichtet. Der Bau ist eines der wenigen erhaltenen Beispiele früher bremischer Architektur des Klassizismus und zugleich das älteste Schulgebäude der Stadt. 1853 Umbau und Erweiterung. Bis 1877 Freischule, danach verschiedene schulische Nutzungen, zuletzt von 1901-18 als landwirtschaftliche Winterschule. 1919 Umnutzung als Wohnhaus. 1983-84 grundlegende Sanierung durch den Bremer Architekten Peter Schnorrenberger.

In 1836 built according to plans of the building director Friedrich Moritz Stamm for the public Free School for Boys and Girls which was founded in 1823. The building is one of the few preserved examples of early Bremen classicistic architecture and at the same time the oldest schoolhouse in town. In 1853 extensions and additions. Until 1877 Free School, afterwards several school-related utilisations, at last between 1901-18 as agricultural winter school. In 1919 conversion into a dwelling house. In 1983-84 fundamental rehabilitation by the Bremen architect Peter Schnorrenberger.
