1. Tomlinson Home Marker
Inscription. Named after Captain Thomas Tomlinson, who served as a purchasing agent for the Confederate Army, and owned Tate Springs for thirty-three years before his death in 1909. Built in 1880, this three-story, 5000 sq. ft., five bedrooms, four and half bathroom home, with 5 coal burning fire places, was home to Captain Tomlinson and his family, until his death. His two sons and their families resided here until the resort closed in 1941. This home was vacant for nearly 20 years, before it was fully restored in 2016.
