1. Livestock Barn Marker
Inscription. Donated by the Barnes family and moved to Discovery Park in 2012, this barn was originally built in 1858 by William Bumpus and his son, John. Hand-hewn from Popular trees located on their property, the barn was originally built to house the mule teams used to farm their land. 4. Corn Crib
The Corn Cribs were used by farmers to store corn for livestock. Unshucked corn was added to the corn crib after being harvested, and the well-ventilated design of the structure allowed airflow to dry and preserve the corn, while the elevated storage helped ward off rodents. This Corn Crib was donated by Mr. J.L. Atwill and moved to Discovery Park from Fulton, Kentucky, in 2012.
