1. First Encampment Park Marker
Inscription.
First Encampment Park is located at the approximate location where the First Pioneer Company of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints camped when they arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on July 22, 1847. The park is an interpretive representation of the landscape the pioneers encountered as they entered into the Salt Lake Valley.
