1. Brewer-Austin Mill Marker
Inscription. Featuring local rough-milled cypress, this timber frame structure was built in the summer of 2011 by two volunteers, Wilbur Brewer and Bill Austin, using only traditional timber framing methods such as mortise and tenon joints. No nails were used in the construction of the frame. Instead, oak pegs were used to secure the joints. The Hurst frame was constructed around 1816 and housed in the Massengill Mill on Buffalo Creek in Grainger County, Tennessee.
