Turntable Motor

1. Turntable Motor Marker
This motor was used to turn locomotives around, and is similar to a motor seen here on the K&P turntable in Kingston.
It was mounted vertically on the side of the turntable (see the detail photo) and was powered by compressed air produced by the locomotive itself.
The gears drove a single wheel which ran around a circular track in the turntable pit.
