Inscription.

Built from 1886-91 by the architect Hubert Stier from Hanover on the site of the so-called Hannoverscher Bahnhof from 1847. It displays typical features of through stations with high platforms and enclosed by a bold steel-glass construction. The feat of engineering openly displayed in the platform hall contrasts with the reception area with its round-arched style and renaissance motifs. The building was completely refurbished in 1998-2001 and a pedestrian causeway extended between the inner city and Bürgerweide.
