1. First Station Marker
The building on the right in the photo with the wooden steps and porch is Sharbot Lake's first railway station. It was located here. The station was built by the Kingston and Pembroke Railway shortly after its track was laid through in 1876. When the Ontario and Quebec Railway arrived, a new Sharbot Lake station was built 600 meters north of here. It's believed this first station and several empty buildings were destroyed by fire when the new station was being built.
