A Stately Survivor
This evergreen is about 150 years old, making it the oldest English yew at Longwood.
It was already a large, mature shrub when Longwood's founder, Pierre S. du Pont, had it transported here from Maryland around 1930.
This historic shrub is getting some extra care. Arborists use cables to help support its fragile branches.
Erected by Longwood Gardens.
