Inscription.  
1922-23 nach Plänen des Bremer Architekten Rudolph Jacobs als Sitz der Staatlichen Kunstgewerbeschule errichtet. Der Gebäudekomplex mit L-förmigem Grundriss ist von der norddeutschen Backsteinarchitektur des frühen 20. Jhs. beeinflusst. 1965-68 Erweiterungsbau durch den Bremer Architekten Helmut Reischel.

Nach mehreren Umbenennungen der Kunstgewerbeschule erfolgte 1989 die Umwandlung in die Hochschule für Künste Bremen, die hier bis 2002 ihren Hauptsitz hatte.

Das angrenzende Schulgebäude Kleine Helle wurde bereits 1914-16 nach Plänen des Bremer Baumeisters Hans Ohnesorge als erste staatliche Oberschule für Mädchen errichtet.

Constructed in 1922-23 according to plans of the Bremen architect Rudolph Jacobs as the domicile of the Staatliche Kunstgewerbeschule (State School for Arts and Crafts). The edificial complex with its L-shaped ground plan was influenced by the North German brick architecture of the early 20th century. In 1965-68 extensions by the Bremen architect Helmut Reischel.

into the Hochschule für Künste Bremen (University of Arts) that had its headquarters at this place until 2002.

Already in 1914-16, the adjacent building of the school Kleine Helle was constructed according to plans of the Bremen master builder Hans Ohnesorge as the first state grammar school for girls.
