This photo of John Wayne (left) and Director John Ford was taken in 1950 when they were filming Rio Grande, near Moab, Utah. Ten years earlier Ford and his co-stars Henry Fonda and Claudette Colbert made Drums Along The Mohawk, on Cedar Mountain just north of Kanab for 20th Century Fox Studios. John Ford is the most honored director in film history with a record 5 Academy Awards on his mantle.
