This gun was in service with the Austro-Hungarian Army in World War I. With other war material, it was given to Italy as part of war reparations. The Italian government converted it from its original horse/mule-drawn configuration to the then new "high-speed" motor vehicle towed arrangement seen here. The most obvious change being from the early type wood spoke wheels to the rubber tire solid disc wheels.
