Inscription. Three streetcars lines, the #8, #14 and #9, met here at the Catonsville Junction and a small business community was created. In 1906, Rudolph and Mary Elizabeth Diehlmann built a lunchroom and a general store which served the passengers and employees of the Baltimore Transit Company (BTC). In 1939, the Diehlmanns sold a portion of their land to the BTC for a streetcar turn around and waiting shelter. The shelter, constructed with Belgian block from the streets of Baltimore, was restored in 1997 by local resident, David Ditman.
