Excerpt: Private First Class Staccone was a member of the 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in South Korea on January 26, 1951. Comment by Janice Ogurcak: Friends of PFC Victor J. Staccone dedicated a plaque in his remembrance in the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum in Williamsport, PA. The plaque shares information that not only was he a hero in wartime, but a real hero in life. He was the first Little League player from the United States to die during the Korean War.

(Korean War Gold Star Veteran from Pennsylvania) Excerpt: Victor J Staccone was serving his country during the Korean War when he gave his all in the line of duty. Staccone had the rank of Private First Class. His military occupation or specialty was Light Weapons Infantryman. Service number assignment was 24005719. During his service in the Korean War, Army Private First Class Staccone experienced a traumatic event which ultimately resulted in loss of life on 26 January 1951. Recorded circumstances attributed to: Killed in Action. Incident location: South Korea.
