2. Frederik Ox and Ferdinand Ploeger Marker - wide view
the Raad van Verzet – a Dutch umbrella organization of resistance organizations – Ploeger and Ox were involved in a number of liquidations of Dutch Sipo henchmen. On July 15, 1944, they wanted to liquidate Sipo employee W.C. Mollis together. However, both were arrested, disarmed and, after an attempted escape, rearrested seriously injured. Ox died that same day. It is unclear whether Ploeger succumbed to his injuries the next day in the Huis van Bewaring on the Weteringschans or whether he was shot dead in the dunes near Overveen.
