1. Iraq War/Iraqi Freedom Marker
Inscription.
Operation Iraqi Freedom began in March 2003. PO2 John W. Varner served aboard the USS Harry S. Truman, where he supervised the upload of bombs and missiles for over 1,200 airstrikes in Iraq. MAJ John J. Williamson was a company commander with the 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marines, during the first ground assault of March-April 2003. CPO (SEAL) David M. Collins directed over 300 high-risk movements and was awarded the Bronze Star for outstanding service on the security team for the Interim Prime Minister of Iraq. SPC Randy L. McCloskey, Jr., was a crew chief for Apache attack helicopters with the 101st Airborne. LCPL Jeffrey M. Croak, Jr., USMC, served with the 9th ESB as a .50 caliber machine gunner with convoy security. S01 (SEAL) James M. Webner was awarded the Bronze Star for valor under heavy fire during a special operations mission in June 2007.
